With the art figure MADAME HUMTATA, Crystn Hunt Akron aka Christine Hinterkörner immerses herself in the world of performance and starts experimenting with costume and stage design. In working with various materials from plastic bags to newspaper, she creates individual costumes and gives the figure Madame Humtata her own fashionable identity. Her interest in fashion and design leads her to photographic experiments in which the overall work of art from costume, figure, space and theme creates its own world.
Mit der Kunstfigur MADAME HUMTATA taucht Crystn Hunt Akron aka Christine Hinterkörner in die Performancewelt ein und beginnt mit Kostümen und Bühnenbild zu experimentieren. Bei der Arbeit mit verschiedenen Materialien von Plastiktüten, Nylonstrümpfe bis hin zu Zeitungspapier schafft sie individuelle Kostüme und gibt der Figur Madame Humtata ihre eigene modische Identität. Ihr Interesse an Mode und Design führt sie zu fotografischen Experimenten, in denen das gesamte Kunstwerk aus Kostüm, Figur, Raum und Thema seine eigene Welt erschafft.

Eine performative Suche nach der weiblichen Identität. „Wallflowering“ ist eine Erforschung der Selbstwahrnehmung im Alltäglichen, der Verwirklichung des eigenen Frauseins und der Schwierigkeit, der gesellschaftlichen Normen und den daraus resultierenden Ansprüchen entweder zu entsprechen oder zu entkommen. Costume DESIGN & Styling
Das Costume Design stellt eine eigene Identität der Darstellerinnen dar. Crystn Hunt Akron verwendet unkonventionelle Materialien wie goldenes Lederimitat, welches vorwiegend für Bezüge von Möbel verwendet wird, Lackleder, grünblaue Pailletten um einen artifizellen Look zu kreieren. Das Lacklederkostüm baut Crystn Hunt Akron auf Eisendrähte und Metallstangen. Somit erhält das Kostüm einen femininen post dramatic Look. Durch die Auswahl der Perücken in braun und neongrün mit signalroten Lippen und falschen Wimpern findet ein ständiger Wechsel weiblicher Identitäten statt. read more

Interdisziplinary music performance by Madame Humtata
For the costume design of the interdisciplinary music performance "Fat Black Spider" by MADAME HUMTATA, Crystn Hunt Akron is committed using only materials that are not intended for fashion. She works with the materials as if she were producing a music track or writing a song. In the work process, ideas are born and allows the material to develop and become a piece of art. Plastic garbage bags become a "Little Black Dress", assemble them into a monster, like a "Fat Black Spider" when they gets filled up with air. Whether newsprint, nylon tights, rubbish bags, the more intriguing and unusual the source material is, the more she is interested to work on it.
